Tom Hegen was born in Königsbrunn, Germany, in 1991. He is recognized as one of the leading aerial photographers of our time. His work has been recognized with numerous renowned awards, including the International Photography Award and the Leica Oscar Barnack Award. His first book, titled “Habitat”, was published in 2018, and was followed, in 2019, by “Aerial Observations on Airports”. Hegen works and lives in Munich. For Henzel Studio, Hegen re-appropriated his piece The Shark Bay Peninsula (2019), photographed in Western Australia. The design is free-form with variable pile heights to replicate the dynamic landscape, exclusive material choices increase the contrast between the different parts of nature. Worldwide debut at FRIEZE London No.9 Cork Street. Presented by Ulysses de Santi and included in the exhibition Modernismo Brasil.
“I see myself as a photographer with a documentary, yet also, an artistically abstract approach.”
