MARMINI CHAIR

The Marmini Chair, despite its minimalist architectural appearance, is a very comfortable upholstered chair. The three volumes that compose it do not seem to be able to hold together: the two massive elements in Light Ruivina marble seem to want to detach themselves from the central, upholstered, and soft part. The three triangular shapes are held together by a complex internal system that creates this very compact and theatrical final form. Here again, we find the principle of play and tension between form and function. The technical and aesthetic codes of the chair object represent a true field of experimentation. When pushed to the extreme, the chair can then be imagined as a work of art, a sculpture, but whose clarity of use would remain intact. Some think that a chair is only a chair when it fulfills its intended function: sitting. This collection plays with the boundary between furniture and sculpture. Marmini is a collection of sculptural objects.
