The Eclipse dining table draws inspiration from Eduardo Chillida’s philosophical explorations of form and emptiness, particularly his sculpture “Eulogy of the Horizon” (1990), which serves as both a boundary and an invitation. Similar to Chillida’s work, the Eclipse table features an interplay of solids and voids, creating a subtle choreography between presence and absence. Its structure outlines an implicit ellipse, a shape that emerges from the interaction of wood, void, and shadow, evoking the celestial phenomenon that names the table. This “eclipse” is not a solid form but rather a suggestion made visible by the lines and surfaces that surround it. The Eclipse table is a masterful creation that combines monumental scale with poetic simplicity, where the inherent strength of solid wood becomes a canvas for contemplation and craftsmanship. With impressive legs measuring 9 cm thick and a top that is 8 cm thick, the Eclipse table presents a powerful silhouette—an imposing statement of materiality that is as bold as it is refined. Each table is unique, crafted from large planks of carefully selected wood, embracing the lineage of its origin in homage to the tree from which it came.
