BORGHESE COFFEE TABLE

The Borghese table, like the eponymous sofa, draws inspiration from the umbrella pines in the Villa Borghese gardens in Rome. Its distinctive network of branches is reinterpreted in a graphic steel framework that supports three solid wood tops. The designer’s preference for organic shapes creates a striking modernist statement piece. The tables can be combined to form a larger composition, making them adaptable to any space. Each leg is crafted from laser-cut steel sheets, which are then bent by an artisan who manually welds them together to create the intricate network of branches. A thermal treatment is applied to the structure, resulting in a rich, slightly grainy deep black finish. All wooden surfaces are sanded to achieve a subtle, smooth touch, enhancing the visual strength of the solid wood.
