La Chance Paris
La Chance is a Paris based design company producing furniture, lighting, accessories, rugs and wallpapers created by a cosmopolitan selection of the best designers from the new generation. Since 2012, La Chance has seduced interior designers and design enthusiasts around the world with a contemporary interpretation of the ornamental and decorative French furniture tradition rooted in the Art Deco period. La Chance is the brainchild of Jean-Baptiste Souletie and Louise Breguet who collaborate with artists to create a collection constantly enriched by new personalities. Together, they imagine sophisticated pieces made by European artisans working with the most noble materials.
Louise has an international architectural background and began her career in Beijing before leading projects in France and Haiti. Back in France, she founded her Parisian agency in 2009. From project to project, she established a comfortable and colorful stylistic vocabulary, blended with 80s references. This was the beginning of a desire to create pieces she couldn’t find at retailers and to collaborate more closely with specialized artisans while also drawing on the new wave of French designers.
Jean-Baptiste has been passionate about design and furniture since his teenage years. “My bedside books at 15 were monographs on Ruhlmann or Eames, and I spent my Saturdays in the furniture showrooms of Saint-Germain or the antique dealers at the flea market.” Ten years later, the passion is still intact, and while working at an investment fund, Jean-Baptiste decides to leave everything behind to return to his first love.
Luck—and mutual friends—will allow the two enthusiasts to meet. They then exchange and describe the contours and values of the brand: a bold furniture publishing house, anchored in a tradition of ornamental French decorative furniture, which produces sculptural pieces, but without ever neglecting comfort.
