Zak is a visual artist and designer who employs multiple mediums in his work with an emphasis on drawing and painting layers with unique wood panels as his canvas. He has started experimenting and expanding his ideas to include sculpture and public art projects. Born and raised in Santa Clara, California, he spent his early years growing up in the Bay Area and then relocated to the high desert of Corrales, New Mexico. From the teen years to college, he enjoyed the majestic beauty seen in the Land of Enchantment, but the gypsy blood inside led him on travels to Europe, South America and all over the States, finally ending up in Las Vegas, Nevada for a few years. He spent the last three years designing and building a hotel while working in Portland and Miami Beach. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ostrowski holds a BA from the University of New Mexico and MARCH from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. When he isn’t in his studio painting or designing and constructing buildings; he’s experimenting in his shop making furniture, lighting devices and other interesting gadgets.
