Adam Simha is a modern furniture and housewares designer – an M.I.T. graduate whose varied talents have won him James Beard regional and national baking prizes, seen him edit and produce television and web based cartoons such as “Science Court” (ABC) and “Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist” (Comedy Central), create binaural sound effects for the Boston firm Brown Innovations, and as well, original ice cream flavors at Cambridge’s nationally known Toscanini’s Ice Cream. In 1995 he began creating both functional and decorative work in steel and aluminum which formed the basis for MKS’s evolving line of home furnishings, limited production furniture and accessories and a series of ongoing private and commercial commissions including auditorium seating for architect Steven Holl’s Simmons Hall, and building-wide work furniture for Fumihiko Maki’s new MIT media lab. Adam’s work has been featured in the books, ‘New Chairs’ and ‘Cool Hunting’ as well as publications including The Atlantic Monthly, Boston Globe, Icon, I.D., Interior Design, Food&Wine, Wallpaper*, Frame, Surface, and Details. Adam’s first chair, the ‘5-Minute’ chair is currently part of and exhibit at the Vitra Design Museum. Designlush is proud to exclusively offer Adam’s 10th Anniversary Edition 5-Minute chair in polished stainless steel.
